On the 25 January 2023 we hosted our first Chatty Cafe table here at The Bell! A small group of intrepid volunteers came together to offer their support by being a friendly face to anyone who wanted to come along for a cuppa and a natter.
The table has run (almost) every Saturday since, as a warm and welcoming space to meet with others and discuss anything and everything! We love the chit chat filling the pub and hearing the laughter as stories are shared. Some members have come, others have gone depending on their needs - but this is part of the beauty of the scheme, there's no obligation and no pressure.
Firm friendships have been forged, with a Festive House Crawl the culmination of these connections being plotted at the Chatty Table just before Christmas! Members visited each other's houses with nibbles at each stop, ending up in the pub for some liquid refreshment.
We have really enjoyed being part of the scheme for the last 12 months and long may our table and the friendly chatter continue. New faces are always welcome, so if you fancy coming along, pop in any time between 12.30 and 2.30pm on Saturdays. We offer a special deal of a hot drink and sandwich or cake for just £5, but there is no purchase necessary - just a readiness to sit and enjoy the company of others.
