Do you enjoy chatting with others and connecting with people in your community? We are looking for an out-going person (or people) who would be able to volunteer on Saturday lunchtimes to help us run a Chatter & Natter table in the pub.
Chatter & Natter (or The Chatty Cafe Scheme) is a national charity that helps venues set up weekly slots where those who are looking to spend time with others can come and feel comfortable sitting at an allocated table and talking to anyone else who is happy to have a chat. Experience has shown that having a volunteer who can welcome people, help make introductions and break the ice is far more successful. The volunteers also help promote the weekly gatherings by contacting local services that offer social prescribing to signpost those who may be experiencing loneliness or want to get out and about to the Chatter & Natter sessions.
We will be offering tea, coffee, sandwiches and cake at an affordable price for people to enjoy and of course offering a warm space for them to enjoy this in! We plan to run the Chatter & Natter table every Saturday from 12.20pm to 3pm, so we are after someone who can volunteer between these hours, or the role could be shared if you can't commit to helping every week. There will of course be a hot drink and slice of cake or snack in it for you for your help!
