Summer, summer, summertime...!

It's great to have the better weather with us and see the beer garden back in use! It was of course our saviour last year when we could only serve outside from April, but this year it is a pleasant option for those warmer days. We are busy prepping it for our first big outdoor event - A Burger and Band day on Friday 3 June, from 2pm until late. We have three bands confirmed: Joy Machine, Mary and the Medics and The Bone Idols and are working on a fourth to complete the line-up. The event is hosted in our beer garden, with rain cover should we need it from our marquee. The bar is open all day and burgers will be served in the afternoon and evening. Entry is free, just come along, bring a chair or blanket to relax on and enjoy the music!

We also have the following regular events running over the summer:

  • Wednesday lunch club: affordable lunches from £5 to £9, including a plated roast for £9 are available alongside our usual menu. We also have free transport on offer for over 55s to help you get back out and about. See our events page for full details or call us on 01805 625313.

  • Wednesday mid-week meal deal: we are offering a selection of dishes from our main menu for just £9 each on Wednesday evenings to help you get a mid-week treat without breaking the bank.

  • Thursday friendly darts: we have a good turnout for this each week with no pressure, although we are building a team to enter the Torrington league next season if you have a more competitive edge!

  • Hit music bingo: running monthly, it's music instead of numbers, cash prizes to be won and lots of singing and fun!

  • Pub quiz: we run a monthly pub quiz, which is always a popular night. Teams of up to 6 people and prizes for the winners.

  • Paws at the pub: we love our furry pals here at The Bell and now have a monthly Saturday lunchtime meet especially for them and their owners. See our dedicated page for more information.

You can find out more about all of the above on our events page!

And a quick update on our Sunday roasts...

After announcing we were moving to plated roasts on Sundays, we have since moved back to a carvery, due to some teething problems with the plated plan when we have larger tables in. So, when you come to see us on Sundays, you will see we are still running them as a carvery service, but with some self-service elements now too, so you can still pile your plate nice and high!
