Italian pop-ups, music bingo and chatty cafes...

It has been a while since we updated on our blog and there has been lots going on and lots more to come, so grab a moment to have a read below of what's going on here at The Bell.

Valentine's Night a success - with more to come from Campania Kitchen!

We had a brilliant, fully-booked Italian pop-up night with Campania Kitchen on Valentine's Night. Local chef duo Pina and Nico took over the kitchen for the evening, providing a delicious menu of classic Italian dishes. We decked the pub out with a traditional Italian restaurant theme and accompanied the lovely food with a range of aperitif cocktails including Aperol Spritz, Negronis and Limoncello Sunrise plus some specially selected Italian wines from our merchant in South Molton. The feedback was fantastic from those who joined us, so we are currently working on a new date with Campania Kitchen to run another pop-up supper club. Watch this space and our usual social media feeds for more information.

Music Bingo is Back!

Due to popular demand, we are bringing our music bingo nights back once a month on Saturday nights! For those who haven't played before, it is just like normal bingo, only you listen to clips of popular songs instead of numbers to cross off on your bingo sheet. It's the only bingo game that gets you singing whilst you're winning! Our next game is this Saturday (18 Feb) and we always add the dates to our What's On page.

For £6 you get 3 games, with the money going into the winning pot. If a game is played and there is no winner, the money rolls over to the next game.

Come along at 8.30pm for ears up and eyes down at 9pm. You can always join us for a meal beforehand as well if you fancy it!

Chatty Café every Saturday

We have started up a Chatty Café on Saturdays, 12.30 to 2.30pm. It's a really simple idea - we allocate a table to this each week, with a volunteer hosting so there is always someone to chat to and welcome you. We now regularly have around 10 people who join us for a friendly natter. We offer tea, coffee and either a sandwich or slice of our homemade cake for £5 especially for the café. No need to book and no obligation to purchase - just come along and join in the conversation!

Half Price steak night on Thursdays

We started running our half-price steak nights before Christmas, as we wanted to provide a mid-week treat that helps the pennies go further. It has proved a great success, with some lovely reviews about the juicy 8oz rumps we source from our butcher. We run the offer on a pre-order basis, as this helps us buy exactly the right number of steaks on the day, so we minimise waste. We just need to know before 12 noon on the day if you would like to join us and take advantage of the deal.

We still of course also have our ever-popular roasts on Sundays and our smokehouse and pub classics menu running the remainder of the week. Our next monthly pub quiz is on 4 March and we're working on dates for our live music events this year!
