Grocery service update - from the baker

As we enter the 3rd week of lockdown, we are happy to share some good news - we can now source some items fresh from Shaldon Bakery in Devon, via our partner supplier.

Whilst it doesn't quite bring the bakery to your door, it does offer a range of items we were otherwise relying on more mass-produced options for. You can see the full list of items on our grocery service page. But as a taster - here is what is possible:

  • Fresh loaves - granary, bloomer, french stick or cob. Sliced or unsliced!

  • Rolls, baps and focaccia

  • Crumpets, teacakes and hot cross buns

  • Muffins and scones

We can also get cakes, but as our supplier usually only orders for catering, they do only come in large sizes! So you would need to either be able to freeze portions, or (be able to) share!

  • Traybakes (12 portions): millionaire shortbread, flapjack, rocky road or chocolate brownie.

  • Slab cakes (6 to 8 portions): chocolate, carrot, lemon or coffee and walnut.

  • Small cakes (minimum order of 10): cherry bakewells or eccles cakes.

As with all items, these will be dependent on availability. These times are testing the resources of our suppliers as well, with some ingredients in shorter supply than usual, so they sometimes can't make the full range they would usually bake up each day! As per the other items we can order, delivery is next day for bakery items except Sundays.
