Covid-19 update

So, as we all navigate these unprecedented times, I wanted to do another update on our response to the ever-changing advice and guidance around Covid-19.

Firstly, as already posted, we have increased our vigilance around making sure we clean all surfaces to protect customers and staff. Measures include:

  • Dramatically increasing over the course of the day how often surfaces are wiped which are touched regularly by customers

  • Removing as much tableware as possible to reduce the risk of these encouraging the spread of the virus

  • Sitting customers further apart, by removing tables where they are usually situated close together

  • Asking staff to wash their hands after handling cash and wiping down the till and card machine as often as possible

  • Postponing all events for the foreseeable future - this is to remain in line with the Government's guidance around practising social-distancing.

We have introduced a temporary take-away menu after customers have requested this. Whilst it will be mainly for collection, we do have people willing to help deliver food in the local area for those who cannot collect easily - just ask when you call to order (01805 938285).

We are also working with a local response group, which is co-ordinating support and help for local residents. We have an information point in the pub and can pass on any requests for help, or offers from people to volunteer to support others. Just speak to Sally or Roy. We have also set up a new Facebook Group in conjunction with Monkleigh Garage to link people in the community to help each other: Monkleigh and Saltrens Community Group

As we know, these are unusual times and we are having to make decisions on a daily basis to mitigate the impact on the business and our staff. We are obviously going to do all we can to weather this storm and thank you in advance for your understanding if we have to cancel events, food service or any other of our usual service at short notice (including reducing our opening hours if required). We thank you for your continued support as our fantastic customers and want to reiterate we are here as a community point of contact if we can help in any way.

Thanks,

Sally & Roy
