Busy times!

Hi all, time for another lock down update and hopefully one of the last!

It's been a busy morning here at the pub. We have started to put up our new marquee, which will provide much needed cover in our outside space, but still very well ventilated and safer seating for when we can open. The tables will be laid out according to the guidance provided inside - reports are that there will be more news from the Government tomorrow on this.

We also had some lovely new hanging baskets delivered to brighten up the front and our new picnic benches in the garden are good to go. Thank you Monkleigh Garage crew for helping to unload them when they arrived!

Whilst we get the prep done for what we hope will be a re-opening date on the 4 July, we have decided to make a couple of changes to help allow us the time to be 100% ready.

No takeaways on Thursdays

For the next couple of weeks, we will only be doing our takeaway service on Friday and Saturday nights, so we will not be doing pies on Thursdays from this week. This is to make sure we have the capacity to get all the last little jobs done!

Grocery orders down to once a week

For those ordering groceries from us, I will now be doing just one order per week. Please get your order to me by Thursday at 1pm each week, so I can get all orders delivered on Fridays. We can then organise collection slots for you to pick them up (unless we already deliver, in which case we'll continue to do this). Again this will enable us to focus on getting ready to re-open, but still be able to order the veg, meat from Wares and other items in time for our delivery schedule, which is returning to normal with all our suppliers.

Further information on re-opening

We'll be sharing more details on what this looks like once we have more guidance from the Government - which hasn't been released in any detail yet. We don't want to speculate before then, but will share our 'new normal' and ways of working just as soon as we can. I did update in my last blog with what we expect will be the case, so do have a read through for some hints!

In the meantime, we hope you are all getting used to the new normal and starting to get some sense of routine back. We can't wait to get the doors open again and see you all! There will certainly be quite a few changes, as we navigate ourselves back to full trading conditions and implement all the safety measures we need to, but we promise to work as hard as we can to make your experience visiting us as memorable (for all the right reasons!) as possible!
