Covid 19 community response

We are working with the Community response team for Covid 19 to help provide villagers with access to groceries and other basic supplies whilst we all work together to stop the spread of the virus.

We are staying in touch daily with Government guidance on this and updating our stance on our news page - please take a look at the latest blogs to see where we stand.

The grocery supply service is working via a local supplier, who can deliver to us daily. We are therefore hopeful this will be safer and less stressful than visiting a supermarket. Of course, if you are well and able, supporting local food businesses in our towns is also key and I know from their updates that the bakers and green grocers in Torrington are continuing to trade as essential suppliers.

We are offering this as part of the volunteer response effort. We have added a very small percentage (5%) to the prices of the store cupboard goods on the grocery order form to cover our costs in terms of keeping a fridge on for storage of fresh items and also our card machine charges. We're sorry to have to do this, but with no money coming into the business at present, we do have to be very mindful of our costs. All the fresh produce prices (on the fresh produce list) are exactly as our supplier is charging.

We have volunteers in the village who are happy to help us get these products to you as safely as possible. They will be wearing gloves and using sanitiser wherever possible. However, we also advise you to sanitise all packaging before you take your items into your home, to be extra safe.

Our volunteers are also able  to deliver the items where needed - please just let us know when you order if that's the case. If you are collecting, we will give you a time-slot so we can maintain social distancing protocols and do not have more than one person collecting at any one time. Where possible we will take payment by card over the phone, as this is recognised as safer than handling cash. We have updated our card machine to enable this.

Do have a look at the following documents, to see what is available and how to order. Any questions, just call us on 01805 938285.
