The Bell Inn is a 17th Century pub, nestled in the North Devon Countryside in the village of Monkleigh. We pride ourselves in serving locally sourced food and drinks in a traditional setting, with a large garden with fabulous views!

Smokehouse and grill menu
With our wood-fired smoker, we offer something a bit different for your meal out! We provide a range of signature smoked dishes including ribs, brisket and pork belly. We also serve freshly grilled fish from Appledore, a range of grilled meats from our butcher, veggie and vegan options, some pub classics and our ever-popular burgers.
Traditional Sunday Roast
Weekly traditional roast lunches
On Sundays we serve our roast with a choice of three slow-cooked joints or veggie option. We start serving from1pm until 2.30pm. Packed full of flavour and piled high, it's a firm favourite so booking is advised. Voted number 4 in the top 10 pub roasts in Devon!

OUR FOOD
Smokehouse and grill
menu
Our menu is a blend of our signature smoked meats and good old pub classics. We had the inspiration to install our American wood-fired smoker early in 2021. The slow-smoking style of cooking quickly became a passion for Roy and his kitchen team, urging them to try new rubs, sauces and cuts to tempt the taste buds! Our smokehouse platters are popular, as you can share them and try a bit of everything. We work closely with our local butcher, fishmonger and greengrocer to source the best ingredients we can. On Sundays, we switch to our traditional Sunday roast, which is full of flavour and piled high. We also offer a range of delicious homemade desserts baked by the brilliant Sue!
DRINKS
Real ales, good wines, great spirits (and fab coffee!)
Of course a pub isn't a pub without well kept real ales and ciders so we always have a selection available. We're big wine fans ourselves, so we source some lovely ones from our local merchant. Then there's the spirits - we offer a wide range of tipples including gins, rums and some extra special single cask whiskey from Dartmoor Distillery and Scotland. And we also know it's not all about the booze for everyone, so we stock non--alcoholic options and pride ourselves in delivering a proper coffee, freshly made from bean to cup.

OTHER GOOD STUFF
Dogs, muddy boots and plenty of hoots
That's hoots as in 'having a hoot' as opposed to owls! Our dog-friendliness levels are regularly tested by our resident pub dogs, Patch, Gus and Stanley, who have very exacting standards on comfort and suitable treats.
We're situated on on the A388 and have a good-sized car park and south-facing garden beer-garden with plenty of space. We also welcome motorhome and campervan overnight stop-overs, see our About Us page for more information.
